8/5/2023 0 Comments Pontiac 350 cam selection![]() The mill will be going back into my '73 Formula 350, backed up by a Doug Nash 4+1 with 2.73:1 rear gears (essentially same gear ratios as a Super T-10 with 3.55s and a 5th gear overdrive). That combo should put me at a static compression ratio of 9.6-9.7:1. #17 small valve Heads, milled to 68cc, with ARP screw in rocker arm studs, and Lunati valve springs Factory '73 Pontiac 350, 60k mile shortblock The engine combo I've put together so far: ![]() The "rebuilt" 400 that I bought turned out to have terrible compression in 2 cylinders and signs of a very shoddy rebuild, and the rest of my restoration is going overbudget on time and money, so I'm planning on warming up the 350 for now to get me through until I'm ready to turn that 400 block into a stroker. I'm trying to get the final parts list together for a few bolt-ons I want to add to the 350 Poncho while it's out of the Formula for it's restoration. ![]()
